Title
Dada gegen Dada
Die Affäre Barrès
Die Affäre Barrès
Description
n early 1921, flyers were distributed in Paris announcing criminal proceedings against the famous writer Maurice Barrès. He is charged with "crimes against the internal security of the human spirit". The process ceremony becomes a scandal, the "good patriots and fine people" demand police access, ban, and punishment. The forces of law and order are fuming, but there is also a rift within the DADA group itself. One of the most provocative artistic movements of the time shattered the question of the morality of art.
