Live, real time image editing, very often combined with live sounds. Since its genesis WORM (Rotterdam) has been a strident promoter of this new form. Besides organising performances, tours and showcasing Live Cinema at festivals including Transmediale (Berlin) and X-film (Sofia), WORM commissioned new works from artists in considered to represent an optimum agility of expression and expertise within their chosen practice. The results of three such studio explorations from 2004-2005 are presented on this DVD: OPTICAL MACHINES (NL), WOOING DISRUPTION (I, CHL) and ROTOR (B). Close collaborators Jasch (CH) and Martijn van Boven (NL) complete the DVD's compendium of performances become stand-alone films. Complementing the five films, the DVD also contains extended interviews and background info around the featured artists.
